Baltimore Children and Youth Fund seeks citizen input to help make funding decisions
BALTIMORE, MD - One aspect of Baltimore’s historic Children and Youth Fund that won early praise was Council President Bernard C. “Jack” Young’s insistence that citizens have a concrete role in determining funding decisions related to grant proposals.
As the Fund gears up to launch an RFP process on June 6, Council President Young is excited to announce the need for applications from citizens who’d like to serve as members of the Baltimore Children and Youth Fund’s 2018 Proposal Review Panel. Members of the panel will have a direct role in funding decisions related to the Fund.
The goal is to have the review panel represent the diversity of skills, talents, and demographics of residents in Baltimore City. The Panel is especially looking for young people and for adults with experience working with youth, whether formally or informally.
The panel will be intergenerational, with a significant representation of youth as decision makers.
Proposal Review Panel members will need to dedicate approximately 35 hours from late June to late July. Members of the Proposal Review Panel will be offered a stipend for their time and hard work.
