My Update to Baltimore Residents on COVID-19

Dear Baltimore,

I wanted to provide you with the latest COVID-19 updates following Governor Larry Hogan’s press conference this morning.

In the wake of Maryland’s first COVID-19-related death, Governor Hogan mandated that public transportation services be limited to emergency personnel only. Only ticketed passengers and employees will be allowed inside Baltimore-Washington Thurgood Marshall International Airport. The Governor is also restricting use of MARC, Metro, Light Rail and bus service to first responders and essential workers only.

Malls and enclosed shopping centers will also be closed as of 5PM today. At this time, all public gatherings of 10 people or larger are prohibited.

I understand that these are difficult times for everyone, but these mandates are essential in keeping us all healthy and safe.

Please tune in to my daily livestream briefing for the public on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram (@CouncilPresBMS). Tonight’s livestream will take place at 6PM. I’ll be discussing the latest mandates from the Governor and answering your questions.

Additionally, I have been working to compile COVID-19 updates and resources in a central location on the Baltimore City Council website. Visit bit.ly/cpbms-covid.

You can trust that I will continue to post the most updated information on my social media pages (follow me on TwitterFacebook, and Instagram). If you have questions or need assistance, don’t hesitate to reach me and my office at councilpresident@baltimorecity.gov or 410-396-4804.

In service,

Council President Brandon Scott
