Council President Scott Stresses Importance of Staying Inside
Statement Comes as Maryland Reports Second Death Related to COVID-19
BALTIMORE, MD (March 20, 2020) — Baltimore City Council President Brandon M. Scott made the following statement regarding Maryland's second death related to COVID-19 and the need for Baltimore residents to stay inside this weekend:
“I just learned about Maryland's 2nd death related to COVID-19, a 60-year-old in Baltimore County with pre-existing conditions. My heart goes out to the family.
COVID-19 is serious. Just because you're not experiencing symptoms doesn't mean you couldn't pass the virus onto someone with a pre-existing condition or compromised immune system. This is real. Staying inside could save someone's life. Please share this message with your family and friends.
I cannot stress this enough: Do your part and stay inside this weekend.”
