Council President Scott Statement on the Passing of Mayor Thomas D’Alesandro III

BALTIMORE, MD (October 17, 2019) — Baltimore City Council President Brandon M. Scott on the passing of Mayor Thomas D’Alesandro III:

"I am saddened to hear of the passing of Mayor Thomas D’Alesandro III. Mayor D’Alesandro cared deeply about this city, and was an unrelenting advocate for the citizens of Baltimore. “Young Tommy,” as he was affectionately called, understood the need to bridge communities and worked to eliminate racial barriers in city hall. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mayor D’Alesandro’s family, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and all who knew and loved him."
