Boston Celtics’ Enes Kanter
To Host Basketball Clinic for Baltimore Youth

Free Youth Clinic Partnership Between Council President Scott and Rec & Parks

BALTIMORE, MD (September 14, 2019) — NBA player Enes Kanter of the Boston Celtics will host a free, one-day clinic and skills training for Baltimore youth on Sunday, September 15 at the Rita Church Community Center in Clifton Park, 2101 St Lo Drive. The clinic, co-hosted by Council President Brandon M. Scott and the Department of Recreation and Parks, will run from 9:00am to 1:00pm.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for young athletes interested in basketball to spend time with a professional player,” said Council President Scott. “A big thank you to Mr. Kanter for coming to Baltimore and to Rec and Parks, who put their time and energy into making this event a success.”

Kanter will lead basketball drills and spend time with a group of approximately 100 young people between the ages of 8 and 18.

This partnership was motivated in part by Council President Scott’s commitment to youth and expanding quality opportunities at Baltimore’s recreation centers.

Kanter, a center for the Boston Celtics, previously played for the Utah Jazz (2011-2015), Oklahoma City Thunder (2015-2017), New York Knicks (2017-2019), and the Portland Trail Blazers (2018-2019). Kanter was born in Zürich, Switzerland and attended college at the University of Kentucky.

Advance registration is closed, but walk-in participants will be admitted on a first-come basis.
